The concept of circular economy has taken a central role in the sustainable transformation of regions. The new Territorial Agenda pilot action under German lead supports the development and implementation of strategic circular economy concepts in rural areas in Germany and Europe.
The pilot action is currently establishing a partnership. A call for funding for four German regions is currently ongoing. European regions and organisations are invited to declare their interest to join the partnership. The four-year project will run until 2027 with annual in-situ partner meetings.
The pilot action invites regions in rural areas active on the topic of circular economy and committed to join the partnership to get in touch. The size of the regions may range but should be smaller than the state, provinces or equivalent level. The pilot action is interested in actors in regional development, including public authorities, regional associations or regional economic development agencies.
In all participating countries, in addition to the regional level, nationally responsible bodies will be invited to join. At the European level, several Directorates General will be invited.
Registration to the kick-off event of the TA pilot action that will take placer on the 26 September 2024 in Berlin are now open. Please us the following link to register.
